Vermouth Moderne, Denmark (17.5%, 75cl)

Vermouth Moderne is the result of a creative collaboration between Den Klodsede Bjørn—led by Naja and Frederik—and German vermouth master Heiko Hoos in southern Germany. Crafted from Gewürztraminer and Muskateller grapes grown on Hoos’ cousin’s vineyard, this small-batch vermouth delivers a fresh, tangy, and sweet profile that captivates from the very first sip.

Fragrant cardamom takes center stage on both the nose and palate, beautifully supported by lemon verbena, juniper, coriander seed, and vibrant citrus notes. The Italian influence shines through in its elegant balance of sweetness and spiciness, while the high concentration of citrus evokes grapefruit and recalls a unique fusion of Mexican and Moroccan culinary inspirations.

Expect a harmonious blend of fruit, spice, and herbs, underpinned by the aromatic character of the grapes themselves. Naturally occurring wine crystals may appear at the bottom of the bottle—a mark of quality and a sign of the wine’s mineral richness.
