Skinos, Mastiha Spirit, Greece (30%, 70cl)

Mastic is the resin from the mastic tree, which grows in the Mediterranean area, but especially on the Greek island of Chios. The scent is quite special and mastic has, among other things, been used for turkish delight and other desserts, and as you have probably guessed it has also found its way into spirits! To make Skinos Mastiha, the resin is mixed with neutral spirit in large, heated bronze vessels. Here it dissolves and releases its unique aroma – the scent of the Greek summer! Finally, the spirit is flavored with sugar.
