Port Askaig Single Cask 2011, Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Cask #301630 (48%, 70cl)

10 year old Islay aged on Sherry Butt. Not often we get Single Cask editions from Port Askaig, but we have a very limited amount. 

Strawberry jam, vanilla and smoke on the nose. Strawberry fruit tea, vanilla and peppery spice on the palate that finishes with some long lasting warming smoke. 

Settled on the northern coast of the island, Port Askaig has been the way to the Islays for a few hundred years now. The range of Port Askaig are Islay single malt whiskies, showcasing the spirit of Islay - the robust smokiness and light fruitiness characteristics the island is known for. The range is meant to be shared and enjoyed by all, having appeal with the whisky connoisseurs and the average whisky drinkers. These single malts are a great representation of classic Islay Whisky.
