Mal Bien White Tape Espadín is an artisan mezcal produced in San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca by the Morales family, with roots going back generations under Maestro Mezcalero Lucio Morales López and continued by his son Oscar Morales García. This expression showcases 100 % Espadín (Agave angustifolia) crafted using traditional methods, roasting in earthen pits with encino and white pine, tahona crushing, open-air fermentation in pine vats and double distillation in copper pot stills.
At 45.5 % ABV, this joven mezcal balances expressive agave character with a subtle touch of smoke and tropical energy. Aromas range from roasted agave, citrus peel and tropical fruit to pine and earth, while the palate offers leather, caramelized banana, ground corn and mineral undertones. The finish is long and warming with balanced smoke and gentle herbal complexity.
Mal Bien Espadín is celebrated for its combination of approachability and craft, flavorful enough to sip neat, yet bold enough to stand up in stirred cocktails. Its heritage reflects decades of family-run mezcalero tradition, making it a great introduction to artisanal mezcal from Oaxaca.
