Tutsi is actually a category of agave spirits by it’s own made by the Wixáritari, native americans living in the Sierra Norte and know to the world as the Huichol. Tutsi was lost for a good 25 years and there is currently only one practicing producer. The story how this project started is long, but it started as a text in a book, and after 15 years Tutsi is now being produced again! Can you imagine that? there is only one producer in the whole world, making tribe booze, and you can actually get hold of it! That is crazy! 20 bottles made it to Europe.
