Hazelburn 7 Years Oloroso Cask Matured March 2026 Release is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky produced at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. Distilled in June 2018 and bottled in March 2026, Hazelburn represents the unpeated, triple distilled expression within the distillery portfolio, taking its name from one of Campbeltown's lost historic distilleries.
The production relies on traditional handcrafted methods, utilizing 100% air dried unpeated malted barley. Making full use of all three copper stills at Springbank, the triple distillation process yields a light, delicate, and elegant spirit character. This specific annual release matured exclusively for seven years in 100% first fill and refill Oloroso sherry casks before being bottled at a strength of 47.9% ABV. It is bottled without chill filtration or artificial color additives, preserving its natural oiliness and rich mahogany hue.
The profile is rich, full bodied, and sweet with deep dried fruit, dark sugar, and warming baking spice character. The nose opens with aromas of maraschino cherries, dark fudge, treacle, dried dates, and brandy butter, accompanied by subtle hints of raisins and toasted oak. On the palate, a thick, syrupy mouthfeel delivers rich flavors of brown sugar, candied ginger, dark raisins, red currant jelly, and custard cream. The finish is long, warm, and sweet, leaving lingering notes of sticky toffee pudding, black currant, herbal tarragon, and a faint touch of mint.
