Dalva, Pure White Reserve Organic, Port Wine, Portugal (19%, 75cl)

Dalva Pure White Reserve Organic is a white port produced from organically grown grapes in the Douro Valley. Made in the traditional port style, the wine undergoes fermentation before being fortified with grape spirit, preserving natural sweetness while maintaining freshness.

Unlike young white ports designed purely for mixing, the Reserve style spends additional time ageing in oak casks. This maturation softens the wine and develops greater complexity while keeping the bright character of the white grape varieties.

The profile opens with aromas of white peach, citrus peel and light honey. On the palate it shows ripe stone fruit, almond and gentle floral notes supported by balanced sweetness and a fresh, clean finish. The oak influence remains subtle, adding roundness rather than heaviness.

On a sweetness scale it sits balanced sweet, where fruit richness is lifted by acidity and a lightly nutty character from cask ageing.

White port is traditionally served lightly chilled and works well both as an aperitif or mixed with tonic, citrus and ice for a classic port and tonic.
