Berto Gin is an artisanal spirit produced by the historic Distileria Quaglia in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy. Developed in collaboration with the renowned Jerry Thomas Project in Rome, this gin is designed to offer a classic, juniper-forward profile that bridges traditional distillation heritage with the demands of modern mixology.

The production utilizes a base of high-quality grain alcohol in which the botanicals are carefully macerated and distilled. The recipe features a thoughtful selection of regional Italian ingredients, including intense Tuscan juniper berries, wormwood, iris root, bitter orange peel, and seed coriander. These components are processed using traditional copper pot stills to ensure an elegant extraction that balances herbaceous structure with bright citrus top notes.

The profile is defined by a crisp and pungent nose of fresh pine, cracked coriander, and a subtle hint of alpine herbs. On the palate, it displays a dry and full-bodied texture with dominant notes of juniper resin, earthy angelica, and a vibrant burst of orange oil. The structure is clean and robust, leading into a focused finish characterized by a lingering dry spice and a refreshing citrus clarity.

Berto is well regarded for its exceptional versatility, specifically formulated to stand up beautifully in classic Italian aperitivi and cocktails without being overshadowed by vermouth or bitters. It represents a functional yet premium approach to distillation, offering outstanding quality for daily bar use. The release is an essential building block for a definitive Negroni, a crisp Martinez, or a classic Gin and Tonic.
