Velier Foursquare Supernum Single Blended Barbados Rum 21 Years is a milestone release created through the ongoing partnership between Richard Seale of Foursquare Rum Distillery and Luca Gargano of Velier. Distilled in 2004 from a combination of a double retort copper pot still and a twin column Coffey still, it represents the oldest tropical aging expression released in the joint Velier collection.

The rum undergoes a distinct double maturation process executed entirely under the tropical climate of Barbados. It ages for 19 years in first fill ex-bourbon casks before being transferred into rare ex-Pineau des Charentes oak casks for a final 2 year finish. Bottled in 2026 at a barrel proof of 55% ABV without chill filtration, added sugar, or artificial flavorings, this limited release of 2800 bottles marries classic Bajan structure with delicate French fortified wine nuances.

The profile is exceptionally deep, elegant, and layered, balancing rich oak intensity with sweet stone fruit complexity. The nose opens with inviting aromas of dark honey, ripe peach, candied figs, and dried apricot, followed by toasted coconut, warm nutmeg, and polished mahogany. On the palate, the high proof delivers a velvety, full body with dominant flavors of dark caramel, plum preserve, toasted oak spice, and roasted nuts, supported by gentle notes of yellow raisin, dark cocoa, and sweet wine tannins. The finish is remarkably long, structured, and warming, leaving lingering trails of soft vanilla, dried fruit sweetness, and aromatic wood spice.
