Calle 23 Criollo El Dos Tequila Reposado 100% Agave is an extraordinary, highly limited release crafted by French biochemist-turned-master-distiller Sophie Decobecq at NOM 1545 in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Following up on her iconic original Criollo Blanco, this expression is produced using small, highly concentrated Criollo agaves, a rare natural variant of Blue Weber known for its tiny size, high sugar content, and exceptional aromatic intensity.
Only 3932 bottles released worldwide. Shoppen is the only retailer in Denmark with an allocation and it is highly limited.
Production methods were kept identical to the original Criollo Blanco, low-pressure autoclave cooking, the same yeast strain, the same fermentation and distillation approach, precisely so that any difference between the two expressions could be attributed to one thing only:

| Sophie Decobecq left her home country of France to pursue a career in the tequila industry. In Mexico, she further explored fermentation, building on her previous knowledge of biochemical processes. Calle 23 tequilas are produced using carefully selected yeast strains, with the reposado fermented using a different culture than that of the blanco and añejo varieties. This batch of tequila is made exclusively from Criollo agave, which is smaller than the traditional blue agave. The agaves are harvested from the regions between Tepatitlán and Arandas in the highlands of Jalisco. |
