The story of Tequila Ocho begins with the generations-long tradition of the Camarena family, who have been making tequila since 1937 and still uphold the slow, artisanal process. This family is unique in the fact that they source all of their tequila's agave from their own fields, ensuring that each batch is made with the best quality ingredients. With nothing being rushed or hurried during the production, all of the heart and passion of the Camarenas' Mexican heritage is imbued in each drop of their tequila, which is 100% agave.
In 2008, two agave spirits enthusiasts, set out on a mission to demonstrate that terroir could be expressed in tequila. Carlos Camarena, a 5th generation farmer and 3rd generation tequilero, partnered up with Tomas Estes, the person responsible for introducing tequila culture to Europe. Together, they crafted a tequila that truly captured the essence of the Blue Weber agave - and that was the start of Tequila Ocho.
