Description

From the producer:

The Freimeisterkollektiv is a merger of individualists – a joining of independent distillers and leading bartenders. In order to take back the spirits market from global corporations, we propose a new way to taste and fresh, contemporary marketing channels.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
MEZCAL ARTESANAL 421, produced exclusively for the Freimeisterkollektiv in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca by the master distiller of Los Danzantes, Karin Abad. She has distilled four different, wild agaves (45 % Cuishe, 25 % Mexicano, 16 % Lumbre, 10 % Espadin). This is an unusually fresh and fruity agave distillate that captivates with complex aromas and fine minerality.

KARINA ABAD
Distiller | Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca

Karina Abad is one of the leading protagonists in the production of Mezcal with products such as Los Dazantes and Alipus. In 2009, the trained organic chemist took over the management of the Los Dazantes distillery in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. At Alipus she works with small family businesses in the Oaxaca Valley to produce Mezcal in the traditional way. “The most important thing is the quality of the raw materials, and above all, you have to know the sugar content in order to plan the production,” says Karina Abad. “In the communities that make Mezcal, it has always been important, people have lived with it, today Mezcal has become an economic factor, people are part of Mezcal.” And hardly anyone brings this complex and authentic in the bottle as Karina Abad.
