The mythical Caroni distillery operated in Trinidad from 1923 until it closed in 2002 and this Akvavit from Oslo was barrel aged in a Caroni cask that last was laid in 2000. It contained rum from the highly sought after Velier releases. This akvavit is a first-fill Caroni cask from June 2018 and dumped December 2019. 

The distillers carefully chose caraway, meadowsweet, heather flower, St.Johns wort, dandelion root, angelica root, yarrow, chamomille flower, sorrel, hyssop and horehound as botanicals to create something quite spectacular that you can flex on anybody at your next Scandinavian lunch with.
