This Mezcal is made from Maguey Espadilla, a wild variant of Agave angustifolia that is typically smaller than the more common Maguey Espadín. The batch of 80 litres is truly one-of-a-kind, crafted by the talented Maestro Jorge Gurrola from Suaqui Grande, Sonora. Only 38 bottles have made their way to Europe, and luckily we managed to snag some for you. Jorge, a seasoned mezcal maker at 58 years old, learned the trade from his father and now works with his own son. He exclusively uses Espadilla from his own land, and even though his go-to drink is Bacanora, you can consider this production to be similar - it just hasn't gone through the whole certification process.
